The Clarks Archive, the 'Alfred Gillette Trust' have a very special exhibition at the Clarks headquarters at the 'Grange' this weekend as part of Heritage exhibitions throughout the country.
This is very special for Street as they are exhibiting some of the fossils of Icthyosaurus and other fossils found in the area and collected by Alfred Gillette, whilst quarrying was carried out in Street to provide blue Lias stone for many local buildings, such as Sleepy Hollow. It is an impressive collection.
If you are in the area take a look, as they may not be on display again for a while! It will save you a journey to the Natural History museum where other examples from the area were sent, and I guarantee will be a conversation point if you are 3 or 83

Regrettably having to say good bye to this old apple tree which has been struggling due to over parasitisation from mistletoe toe for a few years. Hoping the other one covered in mistletoe toe doesn't go the same way!
